How do you find creators for TikTok Shop?
You find creators for TikTok Shop through four routes, and sellers who keep growing end up using all of them. Two live inside TikTok Shop Seller Center (open and target collaborations), one is TikTok’s branded content platform (TikTok One), and one happens outside TikTok entirely (search and email outreach).
| Route | Where it runs | Who finds whom | How the creator is paid | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Open collaboration | Seller Center, Affiliate Center | Creators find your products | Commission of 1% to 80% of GMV per order1 | Volume: many small affiliates testing your product |
| Target collaboration | Seller Center, Affiliate Center | You invite named creators | Commission only, or a flat fee for video3 | Creators you want, at a better rate |
| TikTok One | TikTok One (formerly Creator Marketplace) | You search and invite creators | Base pay, revenue share or both6 | Branded content you plan to run as ads |
| Direct outreach | Email, DMs, a creator search tool | You find and contact creators | Your own contract, plus a target collaboration for the product link | Creators who ignore in-app invites or aren’t in your affiliate pool yet |
The order matters. Start with an open collaboration so the product is shoppable and sampled at all, layer target collaborations on the creators who fit, and go off-platform for the ones you can’t reach in-app. TikTok One sits to the side: it is for paid content, not commission selling.
This guide focuses on TikTok Shop. For finding TikTok creators in general (hashtags, TikTok One, search tools, agencies), see our guide on how to find influencers on TikTok.
How does the TikTok Shop affiliate program work for brands?
The TikTok Shop affiliate program lets creators tag your products in their videos and LIVEs and earn a commission on each sale, which you set and TikTok tracks in Seller Center. Brands run it from Affiliate Center with two collaboration types.
Open collaboration. An open collaboration “allows you to make products in your shop available for TikTok creators to promote.” You choose a commission between 1% and 80% of GMV for each order, or let TikTok set an optimized rate based on the top-performing 30% of products. For each product you can offer free samples or refund the creator when they make their first sale1. Setup takes a few minutes2:
- In Seller Center, open Affiliate, then Open collaboration.
- Select the products. You can choose up to 50 per collaboration.
- Set the standard commission rate, the share paid to affiliates who promote the product.
- Check the Shop Ads commission: it can’t be lower than 30% of the standard rate (a 10% standard rate means at least 3% on ad-driven sales). This floor doesn’t apply in Mexico or Brazil2.
- Apply, then decide your sample policy for each product.
Target collaboration. A target collaboration “allows you to invite certain creators to promote specific products on your behalf for an affiliate commission.” You pick one of two fee structures3:
- Commission-only: you pay commission only when a sale is made; videos aren’t reviewed and creators can use any format.
- Flat fee: you pay TikTok Shop a flat amount up front; creators must accept and submit videos within the agreed timeframe, and TikTok Shop pays them after you or the platform approves the video. Flat fee is only available for video, and submitted videos can be authorized for ads if you request it.
After payment you get a confirmation that the invitation was sent, and you can message the creators or copy the invite link to share it yourself. If a creator declines, you can apply the flat fee to another collaboration or request a refund under Flat fee payments3.
When a product sits in both an open and a target collaboration, the creator gets one rate, and “the target collaboration commission rate will always supersede the open collaboration commission rate.” TikTok’s advice is to set the target rate higher1. That is the lever: the open rate is your public price, the target rate is the offer for creators you actually want.
TikTok One vs TikTok Shop affiliate: which do you need?
TikTok One and TikTok Shop affiliate solve different problems, and confusing them is the most common reason sellers end up with the wrong offer. TikTok One (where TikTok Creator Marketplace now lives) is for branded content: TikTok pays creators a base fee per deliverable, a revenue share tied to the video’s performance and your ad spend, or both6. TikTok Shop affiliate pays creators for sales through a commission, or a flat fee per video in a target collaboration13.
| TikTok One | TikTok Shop affiliate | |
|---|---|---|
| Goal | Creator content and paid reach | Product sales through creator videos and LIVEs |
| Where | TikTok One | Seller Center, Affiliate Center |
| Creator pay | Base pay, revenue share, or both6 | Commission per order, or flat fee per video3 |
| Product link | Not required | The creator tags your product |
| Ads | Spark Ads through TikTok Ads Manager | Affiliate posts in TikTok Shop Ads and Product GMV Max4 |
| Use it when | You need launch content or ad creative | You sell on TikTok Shop and want creators to drive orders |
If you sell on TikTok Shop, the affiliate program is the core. TikTok One is worth adding when you need finished ad creative on a deadline. Our TikTok One guide covers that side step by step.
What does a commission offer buy compared with a flat fee?
A commission-only offer is free until a sale happens, which is why creators with real reach often ignore it: they compare it with what they would charge for one sponsored video. Kolect’s managed campaigns give a benchmark for that second number.
| TikTok creator tier | Agreed fee per collaboration, median (P25-P75) | Fee per 1K average views, median |
|---|---|---|
| Nano (under 10K followers) | $138 ($50-$250)8 | $196.508 |
| Micro (10K-100K) | $300 ($175-$500)8 | $52.368 |
| Mid (100K-500K) | $500 ($300-$700)8 | $16.348 |
| Macro (500K-1M) | $550 ($375-$1,450)8 | $13.028 |
| Mega (1M+) | $1,000 ($500-$1,800)8 | $6.858 |
| All TikTok tiers | $450 ($250-$800)8 | $23.118 |

A hypothetical worked example shows the gap. A brand sells a $30 serum and offers 15% commission, so the creator earns $4.50 per order. A micro creator whose agreed fee would be around the $300 median8 needs about 67 orders from one video to earn the same. Some will get there; many won’t try. Three practical conclusions:
- Nano and small micro creators are where commission-only works, because their flat fees are low and samples matter to them. Use open collaborations with free samples here.
- Mid-tier creators and up usually need a flat fee, a much higher target commission, or both (a flat fee you pay under your own contract, plus a target collaboration so their video carries your product link).
- Judge flat fees by views, not followers. The per-view price falls steeply with tier: a mid-tier TikTok creator’s median fee works out to $16.34 per 1K of their average views, against $52.36 for micro creators8. Delivered results are noisier: across Kolect-managed TikTok posts the realized CPM was a median $6.73, with a P25-P75 range of $2.04 to $27.159.
How do you find and vet creators inside Seller Center?
Inside Seller Center you work from Affiliate Center: you see creators who joined TikTok Shop affiliate in your market, and you invite the ones you want through a target collaboration3. A workable routine:
- Start with your own buyers. Creators already selling in your category, and creators who requested your samples, are the warmest leads you will get. Review who requested samples under your open collaboration first.
- Shortlist by sales, not followers. In TikTok Shop, a creator’s history of shoppable videos and LIVEs in your category matters more than audience size.
- Open the creator’s TikTok profile and check the most recent videos. Look at median views rather than the biggest hit, how often they post product videos, and whether comments ask where to buy. Our free engagement rate calculator does the arithmetic.
- Check the audience before you ship anything. Views far below follower count, or comments that read like bots, are warning signs. The fake follower checker gives an audience-authenticity estimate, and our guide on how to identify fake followers explains what to look at by hand.
- Send a target collaboration with a clear offer: the product, the commission or flat fee, the sample, the posting window and any must-say points. Write the brief once and reuse it; our influencer brief template has a filled-in example.
- Track replies and post dates in the Target collaboration page in Affiliate Center3, and follow up on creators who received samples but haven’t posted.
How do you reach creators who ignore in-app invitations?
Email them. Creators who get many TikTok Shop invitations a day often don’t open them, but many list a business email in their bio, and a short email with a concrete offer gets read. The workflow:
- Find candidates outside Seller Center. Search by niche, country and recent views with a creator search tool, or start from creators whose videos about competing products are doing well.
- Get the contact email. Many creators who take brand work list one in the bio or on a linked page.
- Send a short email with the product, why it fits their audience, the offer (flat fee, target commission or both), the sample, and the posting window. Our influencer outreach templates include one for TikTok Shop offers.
- Agree terms, then send the target collaboration invite link so the video carries your product link and commission is tracked in Seller Center3.
- Put usage rights in writing if you plan to run the video as an ad. In Kolect-managed campaigns, 80.4% of single-post deals included paid-usage, whitelisting or ad-code rights9; creators expect the question.
Kolect Creator Search fits steps 1 and 2. You describe the creators in one sentence (“US skincare creators who post product reviews”), edit the filters it builds (country, platform, follower range, niche, engagement), and each result shows why it matches, its matching videos and a 0–100 audience-authenticity estimate11. Public contact emails of search results come at no extra cost. Each result’s followers and views are refreshed before it is shown, from a database of 300M+ creator profiles across TikTok, Instagram and YouTube11. You can see 5 creators without an account and get 90 credits on sign-up; paid plans start at $7.20 a month (Light, 20% off a regular $9) as of October 2026, on the pricing page10. On a TikTok profile, the free Kolect Chrome extension shows followers, median views, view rate and an estimated engagement rate next to the creator’s name. Where Kolect is weaker: it has no TikTok Shop sales data, can’t send target collaborations and doesn’t pay commissions. You still run the deal in Seller Center. Start a search on influencer search, or find addresses with the influencer email finder.
How do you turn creator videos into TikTok Shop ads?
Authorized affiliate videos can run as TikTok Shop Ads, and in Product GMV Max they are pulled in automatically. Affiliate creatives are “TikTok posts created by affiliates and authorized for use in TikTok Shop Ads.” The setup, per TikTok4:
- Have an active open collaboration with the creator and commission rates set for the products.
- The creator authorizes the videos, either all affiliate posts at once (Affiliate Mass Authorization) or one video with a video code.
- When you build the ad, select affiliate posts as the video source.
Product GMV Max is TikTok’s “automation solution for TikTok Shop Ads that optimizes for your TikTok Shop’s total channel ROI.” Set the video source to Affiliate post and it includes authorized affiliate videos featuring your selected products; those videos get a commercial content label5. Two limits to plan around: you can’t change the product links in affiliate posts, and if the collaboration ends, ads using those videos pause4. The creator earns commission on sales attributed to the ad, at the Shop Ads rate you set2.
For creator videos made outside the affiliate program, Spark Ads with an authorization code is the route; our guide to Spark Ads vs partnership ads walks through it.
Which markets does TikTok Shop cover, and what changes by market?
TikTok Shop runs separately in each market, so creators, commissions and samples are set per market. In Europe, TikTok Shop launched in Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands and Poland on June 15, 2026, joining Germany, France, Ireland, Italy, Spain and the UK7. What changes by market:
- The creator pool. You invite creators who joined affiliate in that market, and each market’s pool is different. A US product launching in Germany needs a German creator shortlist, not a translated US one.
- Commission rules. The 30% Shop Ads commission floor doesn’t apply in Mexico or Brazil2.
- Fees. Kolect-managed collaborations show creator fees differ by country; our influencer rates guide has country medians, and the guide to finding influencers by location covers country searches.
Checklist: your first month of TikTok Shop creators
- List your best-margin products in an open collaboration with a standard commission and a free-sample policy1.
- Set the Shop Ads commission deliberately; it can’t go below 30% of the standard rate in most markets2.
- Build a shortlist several times longer than the number of creators you need, from Affiliate Center and from off-platform search; many won’t reply.
- Vet each one: median views of recent videos, product-video history, audience authenticity.
- Send target collaborations at a higher rate than the open one, which overrides it1; use a flat fee for mid-tier creators and up, whose median flat fee on TikTok starts around $5008.
- Email creators who don’t answer in-app, then send the invite link.
- Ask every creator who posts to authorize their videos for Shop Ads4.
- Run Product GMV Max with Affiliate post as a video source5, and invite the creators whose videos sell back with a better target rate.
If you would rather not run outreach across time zones yourself, Kolect’s managed creator marketing service handles the shortlist, authenticity checks, outreach, rates, contracts, delivery and payment while you approve creators and content; kolect.ai states 150+ brands served and 120K+ collaborations11.
